Sister Constance Casey, snjm, President of the Academy of the Holy Names is a native of Troy. She is a member of the religious congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary. She loves and is dedicated to her family, her religious community, and her call to the mission to others in the church, society and world.
Sister Connie received her BA in English, history, and theology from Medaille College in Buffalo and her MA in Educational Administration from the State University of New York at Albany. Sister Connie began her teaching career in elementary schools in Winchester, Virginia, followed by serving in Liverpool, New York, Tampa, Florida and Albany, New York, where she has served for the past 32 years.
She has held membership on several boards both in Tampa and in Albany, has held leadership positions in her religious congregation and has been active in service activities and volunteer organizations wherever she has resided. She is active in the Ladies of Charity, the Catholic Charities Diocesan AIDS Services, the Red Cross Blood donor program and in numerous efforts in local organizations.
Sister Connie has devoted her professional life to providing quality education for young women and in seeking ways to extend this opportunity to the poor and economically disadvantaged. She believes that it is important to bring humor, leadership, professionalism, compassion and dedication to every endeavor. She is always eager to find new opportunities to empower others for better lives and to build a better world.
